Some I have heard of Judo, Jeet Kune Do, Aikido, Jujitsu, Ninjutsu, Taekwondo, Kung Fu, Krav Maga, Karate, Kendo … There are more but anyway can someone please tell me what each is about. Thank you

People have written entire books on this subject. But let me break it down for you as succinctly as I can here on Y! A. + Karate – "empty hand" Okinawan / Japanese art punches martial, kicks and blocks. There are many styles of karate including, but far from limited to: Goju-Ryu, Uechi-ryu, Shotokan, Isshenryu, Shori-Ryu, Kyokushin Kai, etc. .. + Jujitsu – Japanese martial art using throws, joint locks, pins and strikes. + Judo – Japanese martial arts (sport) on the basis of jiu-jitsu. The founder was a master of jiu-jitsu and watned to create a martial art / sport that has been more peaceful and less damaging to the opponent. + Aikido – A modified version of jujitsu and judo for stopping an attacker without causing permanent problem. The founder was a pacifist. + Taekwondo – A Korean martial art is most often kicks. It is based on Shotokan Karate and kick an old martial art from Korea called Taekkyeon. There are three main styles of Taekwondo. = World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Taekwondo Olympic Called – It's a sport! = International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) called traditional or classical Taekwon-Do. Many more karate-like. A "real" martial art using punches and kicks that can stop an opponent. = American Taekwondo Association (ATA) – A company making money is a spin-off of the WTF. A sport … without the support of Olympic. + Krav Maga – Israeli martial art developed hybrid Boxing in the 1930s and the mixture control. Since its inception Judo / Jujitsu techniques have been assimilated into the curriculum. + Ninjutsu – The Art of Ninja. (Warning) While there are some legitimate ninjutsu schools out there, most are rip offs. Ninjutsu is a "martial art" that teaches the method of combat tactics and philosophy of the ancient Japanese "guerrilla" murderers. Some of these schools capitalize on the mystery of the Ninja and try and traditions of the people Their training includes melee fighting, swords, spears and other weapons. + Kendo – Japanese fencing. The "modern" art Japanese sword. + Jeet Kune Do (JDK) – the martial art of Lee Brice. It's more a philosophy and a real style and can be adapted to all styles of martial arts. Attention here too. There are several schools that teach JKD but Brice Lee din, t have many high level students and those that do not produce nearly as many experts as there are "expert" teachers there. + Kung Fu – means literally "working hard" in Chinese. In the west, it is generally known Chinese martial arts. There are many, many models. (Wing-Chun Long Fist, Bagua, Choy Li Fut, Bak Mei (White Eyebrow), Fut Gar, Xingyiquan, Hung Gar, Praying Mantis, White Crane, Tai Chi Chuan, different "Shaolin" styles, Kuoshu, etc. ..) These styles can be world apart as far as techniques and strategies. Here are some other … + Tang Soo Do – Korean Karate mainly based on karate Shotokan. + Kobudo – The study of traditional weapons of Okinawa. (Nunchaku Rokushakubō (Bo staff), Sai, Kama, Eku (oar Long), Tonfa and others. + Hapkido – Korean style as jiu-jitsu, but designed to fight against the real street fight. + Jiu-Jitsu – A form of Judo (not Japanese jujitsu) that emphasizes ground fighting + Kenpo – Fist Way – An art of karate-like. (American Kempo is called American Kempo Karate) Very effective. Based on Chinese martial arts of Okinawa. + Taekkyeon – a Korean martial art with dance as a hobby, which mainly uses techniques kicked in a fight as the sport where two people try to know each other off-balance without hurting them. + Muay Thai – Thai kickboxing. many uses of elbows and knees. + Savate – French boxing French + Pancras – Greek hybrid of boxing and wrestling. + Capoeira – a martial arts such as dance of the original system Afro-Brazilian. + Silat – Martial arts of Malay archipelago.
