Different Martial Arts Descriptions

different martial arts descriptions
I am looking for a new martial art to learn. Which one would you suggest? (Details Included)?

I am looking for a new martial art to learn because the school where I recently studied (Fencing and Karate) has closed due to financial issues. I was hoping to try something different. If you have any suggestions for a style that you take or have an interest in taking please list it in your response. Also, a brief description of the art and your reasoning behind it would be appreciated.

Well you could try Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) or Renaissance Martial Arts (RMA). They cover everything from unarmed blows and grappling to dagger usage, sword and shield/buckler, longsword, spears, staves, poleaxes, rapier, and more! All the information used to study and train in these arts can be found in the historical manuals of German, Italian, and English masters who taught the people of their times these arts for self defense, dueling or battle and is the very art we reconstruct now. The downside would be that there are no established schools. This doesn’t mean it is unorganized though. If you are interested, head over to the ARMA website at www.thearma.org and hit the forums, ask if there are any groups in your area to start training with.
